  Q: What is The National DSM Registry?
A: Well, I thought about making a local database for Orlando, and then decided to include all of Florida. It was at that point I realized that we have no central location to keep track of all DSMers. This is it! It is not a message board, a classified or an online auction site! It is just to keep track of all DSMers and their DSMs.

  Q: What are the costs of using this service?
A: There are no costs involved in using the service here at The National DSM Registry. The only costs associated with anything here is for advertising. It is free to sign up and free to post your car profile(s). If you wish to advertise with us, please see the page HERE. And as always, you are welcome to make a donation to us. We always accept them as they help with the overhead of the site. Click the contact button and send us a note letting us know you wish to donate.

  Q: I have a problem with the service and need support. How do I reach you?
A: There is a contact link in the left hand navigation area. This will take you to a form that will reach us. Please be sure and read all of the FAQs first. If you can not resolve the issue, contact us and we will fix it as quick as we can.

  Q: I have a :Insert Car Here: where can I get :insert item here: for it?
A: We can not help you with things like this. And trust us; it is not that we do not want to. But with all of the things we do in a day’s time, it does not allow for us to know the best place to get things for your car. And if you are looking for anything other than DSM stuff, you are REALLY out of luck. Seriously though, do not bother asking as we can not take the time to respond to this type of question.

  Q: I have a great idea for a feature to add to the Registry! Do you want to hear it?
A: Yes we do! If there are features that you would like to see then drop us a note through the contact form and tell us what it is. Be specific as possible with the descriptions. Suggesting things like: "Bigger Pictures!" does not help us to know what you want bigger pictures of. Please include the URL to the page if your suggestion is page specific. Also know that we welcome all suggestions, but we can not implement all that are sent in.

  Q: What is a DSM?
A: This one does come up a lot! DSM is the initials for Diamond Star Motors. It was a joint venture between Chrysler and Mitsubishi. They produced the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Chrysler Laser and the Mitsubishi Galant. There is a ton of information on the web about this. Do a Google search and you will find it.

  Q: You suck! (Or, You are great!) OR I found an error on a page! Can I tell you?
A: Yes! If you feel we are doing a terrible job with this, or if you think we are great, please feel free to contact us. We like to get all the feed back. And any corrections you send in will be made ASAP.

  Q: What is this "Report This Profile" link I see?
A: We want to keep the DSM Registry as clean and neat as possible. This is a hard thing to do when you open up the entire site to people. So this link allows other users to report an offending member to the administrators. We hope that everyone will work to keep this site clean.

  Q: I have sold my car, or I do not want my profile here anymore. How do I delete it?
A: In the near future we will be adding the ability to transfer a car to another owner, but for now it has to be re-entered. If you have sold you car or wish to no longer be listed here you will need to do the following: You may delete your car from out of your profile on your own. This will remove it and all traces of it. This is a one way move and we can not get it back for you. To delete your personal profile, you will need to contact us with your username, password, and email address that are on the account. Once we verify you, we will remove your profile from the database.

  Q: I want to sign up what do I do? I have signed up, now what?
A: If you want to sign up, click the "Register" button on the main menu. Once you fill out the short form, you will be emailed your activation number. Activate your account as per the instructions in the email.

So once your account is activated, you will want to click the "Edit Profile" button in the main menu AFTER you have logged in. This will take you to a section about you. Once that is filled out, click the add car button and add your DSM to the database.

  Q: You say in the user agreement on the sign up page that you protect us from spam! How?
A: In the user agreement on the sign up page, we do state that we will protect your email from spammers and such in anyway we can. We store your email address in a password protected database. It can only be accessed by our web site. If you choose to allow your email address to be "public," our web site pulls it out of the database and immediately breaks it in 2 pieces (at the @ symbol). It is not reconstructed until it reaches the viewers computer where a lovely Java Script puts it back together so the viewer may email you. A spam bot can not put it back together. Therefore it does not retrieve your information.

We also will not EVER sell, lease, trade or anything else, your personal information. We ask you to give us this information on a trust level for use here on this site. We hate spam more than you do, so we have no intent on helping it along.

  Q: Why doesn't my car ever appear as "DSM of the moment?"
A: The DSM of the moment is chosen at random from all of the cars in the database that have a picture attached. If you did not yet upload a picture of your DSM it will not ever appear as the DSM of the Moment. If you have a picture attached and have not seen your car, it is only due to the random selection.

  Q: Why did I not get the confirmation email?
A: If you use a web based email service such as Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo, or even AOL, then chances are the confirmation email was filtered out by the spam filter. Please understand that we are working to resolve this. At this time it is best not to use any of the web based email services as the email for your DSM Registry Account. We do not send you spam and we protect your account when all possible. If you do not get your confirmation email, contact us through the contact form with your username and password with the return email address being the one you signed up from and we will contact you back to verify your account.
